We are happy to announce the 45th Anniversary of Tony’s Fresh Market! Our local grocery stores have been serving fresh since 1979 and we thank our customers for their years of support.
Our promise is to continue to provide Chicagoland with the freshest produce, meat, and international selection. With 21 locations, over 400 vendors, and thousands of customers served on a daily basis, we will continue to grow for years to come.

Tony's Fresh Market Celebrates 45 Years!
Forty-five years ago, Tony’s Fresh Market (“Tony’s”) opened its first family-owned and operated grocery chain on Fullerton Avenue in Chicago. Founded by two Italian immigrants, Tony Ingraffia and Domenico Gambino, Tony’s has always been THE Chicagoland grocery store for fresh food and selection.
As many lifelong Chicagoans know, Tony’s Fresh Market was originally called “Tony’s Finer Foods.” The original location on Fullerton Avenue and Central Park still exists today, but with quite a few updates over the years.
Fast forward to 2024, Tony’s Fresh Market has grown exponentially with 21 locations, over 400 vendors, and thousands of customers served on a daily basis. Two years ago, Tony’s Fresh Market took its biggest step towards growth by joining Heritage Grocers Group. The partnership with Heritage Grocers Group on a national scale has given Tony’s Fresh Market the opportunity to provide more affordable and higher quality products to the local communities.
Tony’s Fresh Market will continue to grow for years to come. Thank you to the communities, families, and customers who have supported us since we opened in 1979.
