September Wines of the Month

There is always time for a glass of wine. Check out these amazing wines for the month of September from all around the world. From sweet moscatos to deep and smooth reds, you are sure to fall in love with at least one of them. Be sure to try one or more of the wines listed below and let us know what you think. Chianti

Podere Elisa Chianti D.O.C.G. 

This Italian wine has an intense ruby red color with shades of burgundy. On the nose, it is full, sweet, and fruity with hints of vanilla & spice. The flavor is sweet at first with a persistent fruity finish. Pairs well with simple white and red meat dishes, mushrooms, and dry cheeses.

Le Pianure Prosecco D.O.C.

 This extra dry millesimato prosecco is a bright straw yellow color with green reflections. On the nose, it is refined and elegant with notes of peaches, flowers & pear. The flavor is consistently sweet and easily drinkable. Pairs well with seafood and can be consumed as an aperitif. 

Pinot Grigio

Le Pianure Pinot Grigio D.O.C.

This award winning Venetian wine has a straw yellow color with hints of amber. On the nose, you will smell fresh pear, golden apple & flowers. The flavor profile of this wine is light-medium bodied, fresh and complex, with flavors of lemon, apple & sage. Pairs well with hors d’oeuvres, fish, light vegetable soups, prosciutto & mild cheeses.

Filipetti Moscato Dolce 

This sparkling wine has a straw yellow color. On the nose, there are strong aromatic scents of peach, pear, melon & yellow apple. With a citrus, peach, melon & apricot flavor, this wine has a sweetness contrasted with high acidity. Pairs well with fish, light salads, cheesecake, puddings & pastries. 

 

Sweet Rosso

Sansilvestro Dulcis Sweet Rosso 

This sweet blend has a bright, translucent ruby red color. On the nose, enjoy aromatic scents with delicate hints of red fruits and roses. There are soft flavors of strawberries & raspberries, with a delightful effervescence. Pairs well with aperitifs, pastries, light cake, strawberries & ice cream. 

 

Moscato

Sansilvestro Dulcis Moscato D’Asti D.O.C.G.

This sweet wine is a pale yellow color. On the nose, there are big enveloping scents with hints of acai, apricots, white peach & pear. Enjoy flavors of acai & honey. This wine is sweet and fresh with a slight effervescence. Pairs well with aperitifs, pastries, cakes, strawberries & ice cream. 

Montepulciano

Barone di Valforte Montepulciano D’Abruzzo D.O.P.

This Abruzzese wine is ruby red with purple highlights. On the nose, there is a fruit scent with tones of plum & morel cherries. For best flavor, this wine matures a few months after vintage. It has a soft, lingering flavor of dark berries and plums. This very versatile wine is a great compliment to appetizers, entrees, meats & cheeses. 

 

 

Rosato

Le Pianure Rosato 

This sweet wine has a bright, vivid pink color with flecks of orange. On the nose, it has intense notes of wild strawberries and acai. With a full dry flavor, there are characteristic notes of strawberries, acai & lime. Pairs well with cold cuts, light main courses & unripened cheeses. 

 

Moscato

Filipetti Moscato Rosato 

This sparkling Italian wine has a soft pink color with slight orange undertones. On the nose, is a fresh aroma of strawberries, cherries & hints of violet. With a crisp acidity balanced with a soft sweetness, enjoy flavors of fresh red berries. Pairs well with grilled or seared fish, white meat & creamy desserts.
